Peace Parks Foundation is a non-profit organisation. The foundation has virtually all the powers of a normal company, but cannot have shareholders, and no profits can be paid to supporting members or directors.

To assist with technical advice in the transfrontier conservation process and to provide a forum for discussion of cross-border challenges, Peace Parks Foundation established an advisory committee and invited representatives from the wildlife authorities of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) member states to serve in an ex officio capacity.
