Amsterdam, 16 February 2018 - The Dutch Postcode Lottery has announced continued support to Peace Park Foundation. At the Lottery's annual Goed Geld Gala, Peace Parks was awarded a contribution of € 1,350,000 to continue working on the development of transfrontier conservation areas in southern Africa.
The Chairman of Peace Parks Foundation Netherlands, Willem Russell, received the amount. "The Postcode Lottery's contribution is incredibly important to be able to continue our work and develop cross-border parks." In 2014, Peace Park Foundation received € 14.4 million from the Postcode Lottery Dream Fund. "With that money we are continuing in our efforts to improve the protection of rhino in Africa, step by step. The first positive results have been achieved! "

Record amount for charities
Thanks to the 2.9 million participants, the proceeds of the Postcode Lottery grew to more than 715 million euros over the past year. Because the lottery donates half of the proceeds to good causes, this contribution also grew, with almost 16 million euros. The more than 357 million euros that the Postcode Lottery donates to charities this year is divided among 112 organizations. In all, the lottery has donated more than 5.4 billion euros to charities since 1989. An overview of all donations can be found on the website of the Postcode Lottery.

Gratitude
The Postcode Lottery has been a loyal supporter of Peace Parks Foundation for more than 16 years. In 2014, Peace Parks Foundation and the World Wildlife Fund Netherlands received € 14.4 million from the Dream Fund for their 'Rhino's worth gold' project to assist with efforts to protect rhinoceros populations in Africa. So far, Peace Parks Foundation has received more than € 36 million from the Postcode Lottery. The Foundation wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the Dutch Postcode Lottery players and organisers for their continued support.
